St. Albans: A Mass of Christian Burial for Francis “Frank†Zakrzewski, who passed away Friday, May 6, 2011, was concelebrated Friday, May 13, 2011, at 11:00 AM in St. Mary’s Church, Fairfield Street, St. Albans with Father Brian O’Donnell, Administrator and longtime family, Father Roland Rivard co-officiating, assisted by Rev. Mr. Gabe Gagne, Deacon. The altar attendants were Rose Rixon and Denise Messier. The soloist was Marie Chevalier, accompanied by her brother, Robert Chevalier who played the organ and sang harmony. The selection of hymns included, “Here I Am Lordâ€, “The Twenty-Third Psalm-The Lord Is My Shepherdâ€, “Eat This Breadâ€, “On Eagles Wingsâ€, “Song of Farewell†and “Be Not Afraidâ€. Reading from the Old and New Testaments were Cheryl Foice and Joseph Davison. The Holy Gospel was proclaimed by Deacon Gagne who also led the congregation in the Profession of Faith. The Homily was delivered by Father O’Donnell. The crucifix was presented by Frank’s wife, Mary-Lou Zakrzewski, while the Offertory Gifts were presented by Granddaughter, Isabella Bonasera and Nathan and Nicole Foice. Attending were delegations consisting of BFA - St. Albans including faculty, staff, students and former students, St. Albans City School, St. Mary’s Court Catholic Daughters and Howard Estates Neighbors. Also attending were representatives from Hackett, Valine & McDonald, AM Peisch & Co., Brown, Cahill, Gawne & Miller, Total Home Center, Dr. Taylor Yates, Handy Cadillac, David Juaire Photography, Lang, McLaughry and Spera, Enosburg Rescue,Essex Fire Department and St. Albans City Fire Department A Memorial Service honoring Frank’s life was held immediately following the Mass with memories and personal reflections being shared by Joe Davison, Dan Marlow, Jim and Charlotte Arkinson and Harry Moulton. A reception luncheon was then hosted by the St. Mary’s Parish Family Christian Service Committee. The urn ark bearers were Michael Zakrzewski, Edward Pawlasiak, Thomas Preleski and David Preleski. During the visitation on Thursday, Fr. O’Donnell joined the family in a prayer service and the Ladies of Court St. Mary’s Catholic Daughters prayed a decade of the rosary with the family led by Coregent Lucille Doyle in the Heald Funeral Home 87 South Main Street, St. Albans.
