Obituary for Evelyn Uren Domey

St. Albans - Evelyn Uren Domey,94, a longtime area resident passed away late Sunday, November 11, 2012, at the Northwestern Medical Center. Born in Penzance, Cornwall, England on July 3, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Gertrude (Simmons) Uren. On September 7, 1941, in St. Albans, Evelyn married Philip R. “Phil” Domey who preceded her in death on August 16, 2004. Evelyn was an avid knitter, knitting socks for soldiers during World War II and also enjoyed working in her garden. Survivors include her sons, Brian Domey and his wife, Judy, of St. Albans and Geoff Domey and his wife, Jeannine, of Swanton and her grandchildren, Cody and Steven Domey, Jason Domey and his wife, Laurie, Chris Domey, Pam Stocks and her husband, Jeff, and Baron Domey. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Logan, Aiden and Cohen Stocks and William Massey, her sister-in-law, Jane Brigham, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela Jane Domey in 1957, her son, Robert Domey in 2007, her sister, Joan Paige and niece, Valerie Paige. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, November 14, 2012, from 7 to 9 PM at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street. A funeral service will be held on Thursday November 15th at 11:00 AM in the Heald Funeral Chapel with Daniel Brueckner, Pastor of the Swanton Christian Church officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot in Greenwood Cemetery.
