St. Albans – Elizabeth (Libby) Mildred Louise Guyette Barrett, 92, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, December 14, 2014. Born on July 21, 1922 to late Ernest G. and Mary (Dukette) Guyette, she was raised in the Pittsford and Rutland, VT. Libby received a Registered Nursing Degree from UVM. She then moved to St. Albans where she instructed nursing students at St. Albans Hospital. She practiced her skills at the two local hospitals, private duty, Camp Fire Girls camp and as a volunteer with many Red Cross blood drives. Her favorite pastimes included bowling, bingo, summer vacations to a different location each year and attending numerous community suppers in the Franklin County area. Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Kenneth A. Barrett (Stubby), their daughters, Kim Gross (Vaughn) of St. Albans and Wendy Nadeau ( Dennis) of Highgate and 2 grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn Gross of Stockbridge, VT and Vaughn Clark Gross of Worcester, MA, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was predeceased by 4 sisters and a half-brother. Long-time residents of Lake St. and Lower Newton Road, St. Albans, Libby resided with her sweetie at Holiday House for the past four months. Prayers of committal and interment for Elizabeth who passed away on December 14, 2014, and Kenneth who passed away on February 27, 2015, will be held on Friday May 22nd at 11:00 A.M. at the family lot in the St. Albans Bay Cemetery, Lake Road. Mr. Barrett, a World War II veteran will be accorded military honors by the Camp Johnson Funeral Honors Team. Assisting the Barrett family is the Heald Funeral Home of St. Albans.
