Elizabeth “Betty†Corliss St. Albans: Funeral services for Elizabeth “Betty†Corliss who passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2011 were held Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Church Street, St. Albans with Lay Speaker, Sharon Benjamin Baker officiating. Martha Maxfield was the organist who accompanied the congregation in singing “Are Ye Ableâ€, “Tell Me The Story Of Jesusâ€, and “In The Gardenâ€. Brian Fiorenza, a great nephew read the Twenty-Third Psalm. Two special poems, “Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening†and “Why God Made Teachers†were read by a nephew, Dave Morrison and a great nephew, Adam Fiorenza. Personal memories of Betty were shared by the lay speaker, Sharon Baker, a niece, Anna Morrison, and family friend, Joyce Jenkins. Attending were members of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church Women’s Mission Society and church family, Out Reach Circle, St. Albans and Franklin County Teachers, former students, St. Albans City Senior Center, the law office of Brown, Cahil, Gawn and Miller and Dan Bruley Paint Contractor. Immediately following the services, a luncheon was hosted by the St. Paul’s United Methodist Church Women’s Mission Society in the Fellowship Hall. Interment followed in the Corliss Family Lot in Riverside Cemetery, Route 78, Swanton. Casket Bearers were nephews, Stephen Morrison,Brian Fiorenza, Michael Fiorenza and Daniel Fiorenza. Assisting the family was the staff of the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans.
