Obituary for Douglas E. Bohannon

St. Albans – Douglas E. Bohannon a longtime Franklin County resident passed away Wednesday, September 6th, 2017, at the UVM Medical Center with his family at his side.

Born in Alburgh, on January 12th, 1929, he was the son of the late Gilbert and Mary (Thompson) Bohannon. Douglas was 88 years old.

On August 26th, 1956, in Swanton, he married Mildred Hislop.

Douglas served his country in the Korean War and went on to a long career with the Central Vermont Railroad, retiring as Foreman in the Bridge and Building Department.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mildred, of St. Albans; their 2 daughters, Joni L. Bohannon and her husband, Wu Ou of St. Albans and Carol Bourbeau and her husband, Raymond, of South Burlington as well as 2 grandsons, Douglas and Cameron Bourbeau.

In addition to his parents, Douglas was pre-deceased by a brother, Thomas Bohannon.

At his request funeral services will be private and interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Swanton.
