St. Albans - Donalee R. Lamson, 73, passed away July 9 th 2016, in Burlington, Vermont from a hemorrhagic stroke surrounded by her loving family.
Visiting hours will be held at Heald Funeral Home on 87 South Main Street, St. Albans, Vermont on Thursday, July 14th, 2016, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.
The Celebration of Life will be held at First Congregational Church on Church Street, St. Albans, Vermont on Friday, July 15th, 2016, at 11:00 A.M with former Pastor Judy Steger Kennedy officiating.
Donalee was born on January 14, 1943, to Bert and Rita Pecor. She attended South Burlington High School and graduated in 1962. She went on to get a Degree from New England School of Cosmetology in Claremont, New Hampshire. She owned and operated a beauty shop for years until she went on to open a daycare service and later became a substitute teacher for Franklin County. Donalee was an avid quilter, seamstress, crochet, and cook. She dedicated her life to working charitable events, helping others. Donalee believed that giving of herself was the ultimate way to show her appreciation for a fulfilling life. She provided food for Martha’s Kitchen for 9 years ensuring the pantry for less fortunate was always full. Donalee and her quilting group provided hundreds of prayer shawls for First Congressional Church, as well as hundreds of hats, mittens, and quilts for the St. Albans homeless shelter. Donalee was a major contributor to the Army and the Air Force Family Advocacy programs with donations to deployed soldiers and airman and family support during holiday seasons.
Donalee is survived by her husband, R. Clark Lamson. They have been happily married for 50 blissful years since February 2, 1966. She also leaves behind her 5 children; sons, Paul, Scott and Garth (wife Angela), and daughters, Debbie and Tina, 7 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.
