Georgia - Delbert R. Burnor, 91, a longtime area resident passed away peacefully Friday, October 26, 2012, at his home with his loving family at his side. Born on May 2, 1921, in Bakersfield, Delbert was the son of the late Robert W. Burnor and Laura Louise (Garrett) Adams. On July 12, 1948, in Georgia, Delbert married Ruby Matthews, who survives him. Delbert for many years worked for the Demers family in the quarry and then went on to work for Champlain Cable for 20 years, retiring in 1986. He was proud of his yearly gardens, tending to his horses and his hunting and fishing trips with his son, Hubert. But his greatest enjoyment was his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of over 64 years, Ruby of Georgia, their son, Hubert Burnor and his wife, Gale, of Bennington; his grandchildren, Anthony and his wife, Kimberly, Brian and his wife, Carol, and Lisa, and his great grandchildren, Anthony, Michael and Kathryn. His is also survived by his ½ sister, Elaine Preston and her husband, Duane of Fairfax and step-sister, Eleanor Webster of Georgia and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Monday, October 29, 2012, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM in the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday October 30th at 2:00 PM in the Georgia United Methodist Church, Ethan Allen Highway. Pastors Hyung Kyu Yi and Richard Dickey will officiate. Interment will follow in the family lot in Georgia Plain Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Georgia United Methodist Church, 18 Carpenter Hill Road, St. Albans, VT 05478.
