St. Albans – David “Woody” Reid Luneau a lifelong resident of this area passed away unexpectedly while at his beloved deer camp on Saturday, August 18th, 2017.
Born in St. Albans on June 12th, 1955, he was the son of Eleanor (Parker) Luneau and the late Joseph Leo Raymond Luneau. David was 62 years old.
David was a 1973 graduate of Bellows Free Academy and was a longtime employee of Central Vermont Railroad. He was also a member of Local 693, United Association of Plumbers & Pipefitters.
Woody enjoyed hunting and spending time at the Luneau dear camp in North Fayston with his son Reid, family and friends. His love of the outdoors occupied most of his free time. He spent many hours on Lake Champlain with his friend, Marc Mercure, who is now deceased. Woody always looked forward to attending the annual fish fry in Marshfield with his friends, Larry Larrow and David Benson.
Survivors include his mother, Eleanor, of Richford; his son, Reid, of St. Albans, as well as his siblings, Timothy/Bruce Rhoades of San Francisco, California; his sisters, Rae /Beau Allen, of San Luis Obispo, California and Martha/Doug Bach of Kansas City, Kansas.
David is also survived by his longtime companion, Louise Luneau, of St. Albans, her daughter, Lindsey of Eugene, OR and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins all of whom he loved dearly.
David was predeceased by his father, Raymond, on August 23rd, 2008.
He was an affable, friendly guy who loved to laugh and will sorely be missed by all who knew him
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, August 25th, 2017, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans.
A prayer service will follow at 5:00 PM with the Reverend Maurice J. Roy officiating
