St. Albans - A funeral service will be held at the Corner Stone Community Church, Bombardier Road, Milton, VT at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday 14 June 2014. Auntie was born in South Hero, VT unto Clifford and Leola (Tourville) Santor 27 February 1942. On 30 December 2013, she left her worldly being behind, at the Franklin County Rehabilitation Center in St. Albans, VT; due to complications of Downs Syndrome and Alzheimer’s disease. She was raised and educated in South Hero, VT, then moved with the family to Milton, VT. In 1998 she again moved to St. Albans, VT. Her strength, stamina and positive attitude allowed her to excel in life, to rise to heights and longevity never considered possible by medical personnel. Cora graduated from the 8th grade, and attended special Education and Training with Northwest Counseling. Auntie was a loving companion to and helped raise her nieces and nephews; she had jobs in restaurants when she was able and excelled in Special Olympics Bowling, winning several medals over the years. While at Franklin County Rehab, she became an accomplished artist, painting many oil paintings of scenery and such. Auntie is survived by her sister-in-law, Jan Santor; Nieces and Nephews Kate Zahn; Kevin (Lisa), Kyle (Tessa), Korey (Kim) and Cayre-Ayne Santor; many great Nieces and Nephews; RJ, Nicole, Brett, Dylan, Kayne, Korina, Kali, Korey II, Keynesha and Elanie; as well as many great-great nieces and nephews; Uncles; Frank, Donald and Charles Tourville, her Aunt Shirley Martin; and Aunt Pat Jones; extended family Include Carla Dewyea, Jim Boutin, Rene Jodoin, Ray Lalumiere and many, many cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her parents; her brother David, as well as many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and a nephew. The family extends their deepest gratitude to her caregivers at Franklin County Rehab and Northwest Counseling Services who provided her with loving care until her passing and to the Heald Funeral home for their caring assistance to the family.
