Obituary for Coleman Roland Chandler
Fairfield, Vermont - Coleman Roland Chandler, 95, passed away unexpectedly, peacefully in his sleep, after a day working in his garden. Born on July 2, 1912, in Addison, Maine, he was the son of the late, Roscoe and Mary (Manion) Chandler. Coleman was preceded in death by his wife of seventy-one years, Hilda B. Smith, on August 25, 2007. Coleman was a member of the Franklin County Senior Center in St. Albans. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Phillip Shattuck of Richmond, Vermont; six grandchildren and their spouses; Bob and Menchie Mattsen, Stephanie and Ali Kamal, Dan Mattsen, Sarah and Mike Miller, Jennifer Brown and Eric Van Dusen, nine great grandchildren and one great, great granddaughter. He also leaves two brothers, Bernard Chandler and James Chandler and his wife, Helen all of Maine, a sister, Josephine Kelley of Connecticut, a son-in-law, John S. Brown and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents and wife, Hulda, Coleman was preceded in death by two daughters, Joanne C. Brown and Martha Chandler, two sisters and two brothers. A memorial get together will be held at his former home at Fern Hill Apartments.
