Charlotte A. Sunderland Georgia - Charlotte A. Sunderland, 90, a lifelong area resident, passed away early Friday, October 20, 2006, at the Redstone Villa Nursing Home with her loving family at her side. She was born in Georgia, Vermont on February 21, 1916, the daughter of the late Rolla and E. Rogene (Boyden) Alexander. On February 7, 1939, in Georgia, Charlotte married Ronald J. Sunderland who predeceased her on February 18, 2002. Charlotte was a 1935 graduate of Bellows Free Academy in St. Albans. She was a life long member of the Georgia Plain Baptist Church and the Banner Grange. Charlotte enjoyed sewing, knitting, reading and most of all her family. Survivors include her two daughters; Bette S. Dunsmore of Georgia, Barbara Duffy and her husband, Donald of St. Albans, her son-in-law; William Crocker of Georgia, her sister-in-law; Katherine Way of St. Albans, her ten grandchildren; Todd, Russell and Jonathan Crocker, Stacy Baker, Amy Bennett, Brian and Bradley Dunsmore, Heather Young, Clayton and Matthew Duffy, her seventeen great-grandchildren; Kassandra, Andrew, Olivia, Kolby, Keannah and Kameron Dunsmore, Makayla, Hunter and Makenna Young, Madison, Sierra, Maxwell Ethan and Abigail Duffy, Thomas and Laurel Baker and Solomon and Isaiah Bennett, her brother-in-law; Howard Knapp of Burlington, her cousin; Nancy Kenty of Gorham, Maine and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, Ronald, Charlotte was predeceased by her daughter, Donna J. Crocker on January 28, 2005, her son-in-law, George M. Dunsmore on March 1, 1995, her three sisters; Lorraine Benham, Arlen Stannard and Ruth Knapp and many brothers and sisters-in-law. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday October 24, 2006, at 11:00 A.M. in the Georgia Plain Baptist Church, corner of Stonebridge Road and Middle Road in Georgia with the Reverend Charles Kuthe officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunderland family lot in the Georgia Plain Cemetery. Charlotte’s family will receive friends on Sunday October 22, 2006, from 4-7 PM at the Heald Funeral Home , 87 South Main Street, St. Albans. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Charlotte’s daughter, Donna Crocker, to the ALS Association, Northern New England Chapter, 10 Ferry Street, Suite 438, Concord, New Hampshire 03301.
