Obituary for Charles Adrian Bombardier

So Burlington – Charles Adrian Bombardier died on Friday January 6, 2012, at Fletcher Allen Health Care with his loving family at his side, following an extended illness. Born in St. Albans on March 15, 1931, he was the son of the late Adrian and Elizabeth (Gregoire) Bombardier. Charlie was a 1949 graduate of Bellows Free Academy. He worked many years for the Central Vermont Railway followed by twenty-five years with IBM in Essex Junction, retiring in 1992. He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Sweeny and her fiancé, Allen Schmidt, of Williston; two sons, Gregory Bombardier and his wife, Janette, of Colchester and Stephen Bombardier of Winooski; his sister, Kathryn Nemkovich, of St. Albans and several nieces and nephews. In addition, Charlie leaves four beloved grandchildren with whom he was most proud; Brendan Sweeny, Andrew Sweeny, Matthew Bombardier and Kirsten Bombardier. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, John Bombardier; his sister, Doris Ladue; his sister-in-law, Betty-Jane Bombardier and brothers-in-law, William Ladue and Robert Nemkovich. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, January 11, 2012, from 9:30 – 11:30 AM at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 11th at 12:30 PM in Holy Angels Catholic Church on Lake Street, St. Albans. The Reverend Maurice J. Roy will be the celebrant. Interment will be later this spring in the family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
