Obituary for Celia Elizabeth Benoit

St. Albans – Celia Elizabeth Benoit, 94, passed away on Wednesday morning, October 23, 2019 at Franklin Co. Rehab Center.

Mrs. Benoit was born on December 1, 1924 in St. Albans, the daughter of Oscar F. and Carolyn (Goodroe) Constantine. She was married to Wellington E. “Zeke” Benoit who passed away in 2000.

A 1943 graduate of BFA, Mrs. Benoit took commercial courses and, for a time, worked for the Grain Co. in St. Albans. She was a former communicant of Holy Angels Parish. Mrs. Benoit led a quiet life with simple interests. She enjoyed outdoor activities and especially loved animals and gardening.

Mrs. Benoit is survived by her children; June Morgan, Leonard E. Benoit and Gary L. Benoit and his wife, Kathleen; 2 grandchildren, Keith Graham and his wife, Josie and Carolyn Gadouas and her husband, Gary; several great grandchildren and a sister-in-law Julia Constantine.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Benoit was predeceased by her siblings, Charles Constantine, Alan Constantine, Donald Constantine, who died in infancy, and June Rushlow.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend a graveside service with committal prayers on Monday, October 28, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Holy Cross Cemetery in St. Albans.

Memorial contributions in Mrs. Benoit’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
