Obituary for Cecile Marie Cioffi, RN
Cecile Marie Cioffi, RN St. Albans Cecile Marie Cioffi, a lifelong resident of this area passed away Monday, December 14, 2015, at the Franklin County Rehab surrounded by her family.
Born in St. Albans on November 3, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Adelard and Marguerite (Belisle) Lanoue. Cecile was 74 years old.On September 29, 1962 she married her high school sweetheart James Vincent Cioffi, who preceded her in death on December 24, 2002.
Cecile was a 1958 graduate of Bellows Free Academy and went on to receive her nursing degree at the Mary Fletcher School of Nursing. For 40 years she was a registered nurse working most years at the St. Albans Hospital, Kerbs Memorial Hospital and retired from the Northwestern Medical Center. Cecile was an avid gardener sharing her rock garden wildflowers, roses and vegetables with friends. On Eastview St, Cecile's gardens were part of the St. Albans Garden Club Garden Tour for several years.
In retirement, Cecile shared her talents volunteering at many organizations, including St. Albans City and Town Schools, Operation Happiness, St. Albans Historical Society Museum, NMC Auxiliary Volunteer, Ladies of St. Anne, and American Cancer Society Road to Recovery and Franklin County Relay for Life.
Survivors include her four sons, Mark and his wife, Sue, of Calais, VT, Matthew and his wife, Marie, of North Easton, MA, Luke and his wife, Michelle, of St. Albans and John and his wife, Trudy, of St. Albans as well as her grandchildren, Emily, Jacob, Ethan, Michael, Tanner, Kyle, Isaac, Cooper, Leo, Patrick and Peter. She is also survived by her sister, Claire Sinay and her children, Alan and Andrea all of Peoria, AZ.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Sunday, December 20, 2015, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main St., St. Albans.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 21, 2015, at 11:00 AM at Holy Angels Church, 245 Lake St., St. Albans with the Reverend Maurice J. Roy as celebrant. Interment will follow in the family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
