Franklin, VT /Willsboro, NY – Beverly Mae Sodaro, 81, a 2 year resident of the Homestead in Franklin and former longtime resident of Willsboro, NY passed away Friday December 3, 2010, at the Fletcher Allen Health Care with her family at her side. Born on March 11, 1929, in St. Albans, Bev was the daughter of the late Adelbert W. and Bessie (Blake) Heald. She was married on November 22, 1951, to Gary Sodaro, who preceded her in death on November 13, 2000. Bev was a 1947 graduate of B.F.A. in St. Albans and then received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from U.V.M. where she was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. She retired in 1988 following 20 years as an English teacher for the Willsboro Central School. Bev, an avid reader also enjoyed playing cards, board games, crossword puzzles and most of all being with her family. Survivors include her children, Greg Sodaro and wife, Maureen, of Franklin, VT; David Sodaro and wife, Diane, of Canton, CT and Lisa Boardman and husband, Curt, of Willsboro, NY; her grandchildren, Amie and Nicholas Boardman, Alesha Laroche and husband, Luke; Brian Sodaro and fiancé, Lynde Yandow; and Jessica and Katie Sodaro; a great granddaughter, Abigail Boardman. Bev is also survived by her brother, Arthur Heald and wife, Averill of Sheldon, several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friend, Polly Ladue of St. Albans. Bev’s family will receive friends on Friday, December 10, 2010, from 4 to 7 PM at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 So Main St., St. Albans, VT. A graveside service will be held on Saturday December 11, 2010 at 1:00 PM in the family lot in the Reber Cemetery in Reber, NY. A reception will follow the service at Rick’s Place (518-963-4371) on RT 22, Station Road in Willsboro. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to the Franklin County Home Health Agency, 3 Home Health Circle, St. Albans, VT 05478 or the Glen Heald Scholarship Fund, c/o Averill Heald, 437 Heald Rd, Sheldon, VT 05483.
