Obituary for Betty A. Primeau
St. Albans – Betty A. Primeau, 70, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2010, at the St. Albans Healthcare and Rehab Center with her loving family and friends at her side. She was born in Burlington, Vermont on July 19, 1939, the daughter of the late Homer Charles and Dorothy Rose (Leonard) Richards. For many years Betty was a nanny and then a chef for the Chester Inn in Chester, Vermont, was a member of the Green Mountain Post #1, American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, the Foster Grand Parent Program of Franklin County, the Northwestern Ladies Auxiliary and a former member of the Society of Ladies of St. Anne. Betty loved all kinds of arts and crafts, especially doing her scrap book, was an avid QVC shopper and was especially proud of her culinary skills. Survivors include her sister, Marilyn Letourneau and her companion, John Flood, of Highgate Center; her brother, Gary Richards and his wife, Fay, of Georgia; her nieces and nephews, Debra Grevatt and her husband, Doug and their daughter, Fallyn of St. Armand, Quebec; Larry “Bug” Newell and his companion, Heidi Hughes and their children, Amber, Ryan and Logan of St. Albans; Scott Richards and his wife, Stephanie of Georgia; great nephew, John Farr and his companion ,Mindy Ingerson of St. Albans and great niece, Ashley Johnston and her husband, Travis and their children, Caleb, Kohl and Cayden. Betty is also survived by several cousin and special friends, Lou and Francis Pelkey. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her niece, Laurie Newell and brothers, Homer and Paul Richards. Betty’s family would like to thank the staff at the Franklin County Home Health, Northwestern Medical Center and St. Albans Healthcare and Rehab Center for the care she received and support given to her family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 21, 2010, at 11:00 A.M. in Holy Angels Catholic Church on Lake Street with the Reverend Maurice J. Roy as celebrant. Interment will be later this spring in the family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Betty’s family will receive friends on Wednesday January 20th from 6 to 8 P.M. in the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street.
