Bernard L. Moreau St. Albans/Highgate - Mr. Bernard L. Moreau passed away on Friday, November 3, 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Swanton, Vermont on June 11, 1938, the son of the late Joseph and Marie-Anna (Remillard) Moreau. Bernie will be remembered for his helping hand to many and his ability to fix anything. After a long career with R.L. Vallee, Inc. and Ultramar, he retired in December of 2000 and was responsible for taking care of the grounds for his condo association. Survivors include his wife of forty-two years, Margaret; his two sons, Scott and Jeffrey, and Jeff’s wife, Heather Moreau, and their daughter; Katelynn, who was the light of his life; his brother, Armand Moreau; his sister, Germaine Lapierre; his brother-in-laws: Raymond Patenaude, Carlton Bushey, and Jim Fitzgerald; and his sisters-in-law: Yvonne, Muriel and Jeannette Moreau, Patricia Holland, Janice Bushey, Esther Fitzgerald, and Linda Hobb; along with several cousins, nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bernie was predeceased by his brothers: Leo, Alcide and Raymond Moreau; his sister, Sylvia Patenaude; and his brothers-in-law Marcel Lapierre and James Holland; and his sister-in-law, Pauline Moreau. Bernie’s family would like to express a sincere thank you to the following care providers: Dr. Bruce Tranmer, Dr. Ned Shulman, Dr. Steven Grunberg, and the staff of Franklin County Rehab Center for the care that Bernie received during his illness. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 8, 2006, at 10 AM in Holy Angels Catholic Church on Lake Street. Private interment will follow in the family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery. There will be no public visitation. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Franklin County Home Health Agency, 3 Home Health Circle, St. Albans, Vermont 05478.
