St. Albans: Bernard J. Larose, 80 died peacefully at his home on Monday, November 7th, 2011, surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 14th, 1931, in Swanton to Pierre and Aurore (Bourgea) Larose. Bernard was a graduate of Holy Angels Convent. Upon graduation he worked at Central Vermont Railway and Berno’s Appliance. His last 48 years of his working life was spent at the St. Albans Cooperative Creamery where he retired in 1995 as Plant Manager. Upon retirement, he became a Lister for the Town of St. Albans. Bernard thoroughly enjoyed watching his grandchildren at their sporting events, working outside and spending time with his family. On July 23rd, 1955, he married Doris Stanislas, for which they celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary this year and who survives him… He also survived by his son Robert and his wife Ora, three grandchildren, Zachary and Lauren Larose and Sean Rugg and step-grandchildren, Lori, Logan and Chelsea. He is also survived by his brother Raymond Larose and his wife Theda, two sisters, Georgette and her husband Norman Gagne, Lorraine and husband Joe Rainville, one brother-in-law Norman Stanislas and his wife Anita and a sister-in-law Jeannine Goodenough and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Gary Larose, his parents Pierre and Aurore Larose and his in-laws Kilda and Ida Stanislas. He was also predeceased by his brothers Robert and Normand Larose, sisters-in-law Denise and Marquerite Larose, Yolande Garceau and brothers –in-law Lawrence Norcross, John Garceau and Ken Goodenough. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the Franklin County Home Health Agency Staff and Friends and Family who assisted in caring for Bernard. Visiting hours are Thursday, November 10th, 2011 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM in the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday November 11th, 2011 at 11:00 AM in Holy Angels Roman Catholic Church, Lake Street, St. Albans. Those wishing to honor Bernard’s memory may make a contribution to the Franklin County Home Health Agency, 3 Home Health Circle, St. Albans, VT 05478.
