Obituary for Audrey Beatrice Kenyon

St. Albans – Audrey Beatrice Kenyon, 98, a longtime area resident, passed away peacefully Monday evening, December 27, 2010 at the Northwestern Medical Center with her family at her side. Born on February 6, 1912, in Rouses Point, New York, Audrey was the daughter of the late William and Alma (Rodenheizer) Wisher. Audrey was married to William Kenyon, Jr., who preceded her in death on December 9, 1972. Audrey was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. She was employed by the New England Telephone Company for 38 years, retiring in 1975. Audrey was also a life member of New England Telephone Pioneers. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and her hobbies, knitting, crocheting and ceramics. In addition to her parents and husband, Audrey was preceded in death by her son, Donald Kenyon; grandson, Christopher Kenyon; sisters, Gladys Morse, Madeline Cota, Daisy Morse and Mildred Munn and her brothers, Rainsford, Harold and George Wisher. Survivors include her daughters, Dorothy Guise and husband, George, of Milltown, New Jersey, Madelyn Chamberlain of Winooski and Sally Wells and husband, Larry, of St. Albans; her daughter-in-law, Anne Kenyon of St. Albans; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Wisher of Tacoma, Washington. Also surviving are her 19 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 13 great great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Audrey’s family will receive friends on Thursday, December 30th from 4 to 7 PM at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans. A funeral service will be held on Friday December 31st at 11:00 AM in St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, corner of Fairfield and Church Streets. Interment will be in the spring of 2011 in the family lot in Greenwood Cemetery.
