Hyde Park/St. Albans - Armande (Verrier) Loranger, 88, a retired domestic engineer, died on Wednesday afternoon, August 6, 2008, at her home on Samson Point. She was born on October 11, 1919, in St. Christine, Quebec, the daughter of Michel and Melanie (Turenne) Verrier. On August 10, 1939, she married Ovila Loranger, who predeceased her in 1998. In 1952, Armande and Ovila moved to Vermont where they farmed until 1985, then moved to St. Albans with their daughter, Madeline and her husband, Andre Dufault. Armande is survived by six daughters, Denise Audet of Danielson, Connecticut; Gisele Poulin and her husband, J. Paul of Barefoot Bay, Florida; Madeline Dufault and her husband, Andre of St.Albans; Judy Dufault and her husband, Robert of St.Albans; Diane LeRoux and her husband, Lenny of Newburg, New Hampshire; and Francine Giroux and her husband, Raymond of West Addison; a son, Rene Loranger and his wife, Lillian of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, twelve grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and one great- great granddaughter. Armande was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Ovila, three sisters, five brothers and a son-in-law, Raymond Audet in 2002. A special thank you to Sara Vester, Karleen Place and Elizabeth Wilson for taking such good care of our mother. We also want to thank the Franklin County Home Health for their assistance during Armande’s time of need. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 11, 2008, at 1:00 P.M. at Holy Angels Catholic Church on Lake Street with the Reverend Maurice J. Roy as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Loranger family lot in the St. Albans Point Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday, August 10, from 6-9 P.M and Monday 11:30 - 12:30 at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans.
