Highgate – Alice L. Wiegand, 81, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Sheila Wiegand. At her bedside was her loving family. Born on July 31, 1927, in Holyoke, Colorado, Alice was the daughter of the late Fred and Nellie (Gehringer) Fiedler. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald H. Wiegand on October 22, 1974. Alice for several years was employed by the Frigidaire Company. She enjoyed doing puzzle books, needle point and latch hooking. Most of all she enjoyed being with her family. Survivors include her sons, Gerald Wiegand and his wife, Sheila ,of Highgate; Kenneth Wiegand and his wife, Roxanne, of Meridian, Mississippi and Jon Wiegand and his wife, Elaine, of Motley, Minnesota; her daughters, Patricia Holtz and her husband, Daryl of Arizona; Laura Muellner and her husband, Gordon of St. Cloud, Minnesota and Elizabeth Casper of Washington; her grandchildren, Jeremy, Allan, Patrick, Kelly, Corey, Matthew, Joshua and her great grandsons, Jacob, Devon and Dante all of Highgate. Alice is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, many great grandchildren; her brothers, Vern Fiedler and his wife, Esther, of Rice, Minnesota and Ernest Fiedler of Phoenix, Arizona; her brother -in-law, Robert Anderson of Minnesota; a special nephew, Marvin Anderson and his wife, Jackie of Wake Park, Minnesota and several other nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Gerald, Alice was preceded in death by her sister, Ida Mae Anderson and a brother and his wife, John and Carol Fiedler. A celebration of Alice’s life will be held at the home of Gerald and Sheila Wiegand, 1704 Carter Hill Road in Highgate on Thursday, February 26, 2009, from 3 to 7 PM. Interment will be this spring in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Annandale, Minnesota. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Missisquoi Valley Rescue, Inc., P.O.
