Obituary for Aime G. Sampson

Georgia – Aime G. Sampson a longtime resident passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at the Franklin County Rehab Center. Born in Hyde Park, Vermont on April 5, 1931, he was the son of the late Romeo and Esma Marie (Giroux) Samson. On October 30, 1952, he married Loretta W. Sears, who preceded him in death on February 12, 2006. After serving his country during the Korean War, he had a successful 34 year career at the H.P. Hood plant in St. Albans. He worked another 10 years at Wyeth Nutritionals in Georgia before retiring in 1996. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, and a member of the American Morgan Horse Association. He was an avid horseman, training his Morgan horses, and trail riding on his estate, Cedar Pond Morgan Farm, that he so proudly maintained. Survivors include his son, Robert Sampson and his wife, Heather Ferguson, of Burlington, MA; his daughter, Kathleen Gregoire and her husband, Michael, of Georgia, VT and his cherished grandson, Darik. He is also survived by his brother, Roland Samson and his wife, Beverly, of North Adams, MA and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Aime was preceded in death by his son, Stephen A. Sampson and sister, Theresa Smart. Aime’s family would like to thank the staff at Franklin County Rehab for their care and support they received during his stay. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Monday, July 1, 2013, from 4:00 to 6:30 PM at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. in Holy Angels Catholic Church, 246 Lake Street, St. Albans with the Reverend Maurice J. Roy as celebrant. Interment with Military Honors will follow in the family lot in the St. Albans Bay Cemetery. Private messages of condolence are welcome at www.healdfuneralhome.com.
